Music Together® is Non-Performance Oriented

Our classes focus on encouraging families to participate in music in a playful atmosphere without pressure to perform. We honor children’s various learning styles and temperaments, and we encourage participation by accepting and including their spontaneous responses. We also understand how important movement is when it comes to music learning. Parents that don't consider themselves to be "musical" should not worry – our classes are specially design to create a safe, easygoing environment where parents can have fun dancing, singing, and playing with their children.

We Teach the Way Children Learn

At Music Together, we know that children learn differently than adults. They learn instinctively and constantly, and teach themselves through imitation and play, through being immersed in their environment, and through interaction with adults and older children. The family-like setting of Music Together classes creates an ideal learning environment. And it’s all based in research in early childhood and music development.

Classes have a Mixed-Age Setting

Child development researchers have known for a long time that the natural, family-style environment of mixed-age classes is the best way for young children to learn. In our experience, it works! Gathering babies, toddlers, and preschoolers together makes each class fun for all. In Mixed-Age classes, the older children love to show what they know, and the younger ones love to watch and imitate.

The mixed-age setting also allows siblings to attend together and participate at their own level, free from any age-specific expectations. Enjoy making music as a family – no babysitter needed!

Music Learning Supports All Learning®

Gaining basic music skills is one of the most obvious benefits of our early childhood music program, but there are other, less obvious benefits of music for children, too. It turns out that learning music also supports social, emotional, language, cognitive, motor, and physical development.
